Suggestions for Creating an Effective Opportunity Listing

Be specific. Advisors and Investors don't usually take an interest in coyly described opportunities. Give someone a compelling and concrete reason to read your opportunity and contact you.

Don't exaggerate. Contacts resulting from an exaggeration of the assets of your company or opportunity are a waste of everyone's time.

Sell yourself. Your skills and experience are just as important as your idea or your company.

Fields Common to All NVST, Inc. Opportunities

Title - A short description containing words that an investor might search for. Upper case lettering recommended.
Opportunity Type - Business for Sale (Acquisitions), Merger or Joint Venture, Venture Capital, Franchise, Seeking Equity Partner, Seeking Debt Financing, Seeking Advisor, Executive Positions, or Seeking Opportunity.

Seeking Equity Partner:

Active Role - Text about the participation in the business operation.
Stage - Seed, start-up, 2nd stage, 3rd stage, bridge, mezzanine, growth or other description of the business.
Exit/Repay Period - How the Investor will be repaid or liquidate the investment (ie. take the company to the public market, etc.)
